VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES“Kids Feeding Kids”To bring awareness and donations to Feeding Families, Inc., (FFI) one of our campaigns is to involve students from around the entire country to participate, in essence to “give back.” Of the majority of the hungry, needy families in this country most are composed of young children and teenagers. Below are two examples of students making a difference in a hungry child’s life.
Five students at a high school wanted to raise awareness and donations for hungry children. In just sixteen months they've raised $300,000. They eventually conducted a fundraiser at Kanye West's concert in Miami, and they convinced West to donate $1 from every ticket sold. This may be an example of extreme success, but elementary and high school students across the country, some not even old enough to vote — are making a difference.
Another group of students raised $17,000 in its first fundraising event, just two months after they started. They were able to recruit 40 other students and get their mothers’ and fathers’ companies to match what they raised. We've been taught to think we can do anything in this country, and since you can do anything, you should. One of the students said "Giving back leads us to give more of ourselves, and therefore grow up to be better adults serving not just ourselves, but also all the communities we live in.”
Following the delivery of the student raised donations, a certificate will be presented to their group which will account for all the monies they have raised by detailing how many families were fed, and even which fruits and/or vegetables were donated.
“Calling for Change to Make a Difference” In this country we have many people who are transforming social change by committing only a few hours each month to make a difference. By calling on (email, telephone, and/or snail mail) colleagues, friends, family members, churches, synagogues, and community groups to bring awareness and donations to FFI, you will make the difference between hungry families eating healthy food or in some cases, none at all.
We will assist the volunteers with a dialogue to empower them with the information needed to inform others of Feeding Families, Inc. and our mission to feed healthy food to hungry, needy families in America.
